We are a community finding hope in Jesus, which means we gather together regularly and encourage each other by learning from God’s word – the bible. This happens in various formats, suitable for all ages and backgrounds:
SUNDAY BIBLE TALKS: Psalm 119 – Lighting Up The Path
Psalm 119 is the longest chapter in the bible – it could easily be a book in its own right! So we’re going to spend the next couple of months digging in and discovering its treasures.
Jesus says the path to life is narrow and hard, but Psalm 119 reminds us that he lights up the way. His word is a source of guidance, wisdom and joy. It shows us how to grow close to God and stay close. Because it all points to Jesus himself.
So don’t stumble in the dark anymore!
Beginning on the 16th of November and finishing up in January. Sundays @11 am in the Ballina Family Resource Centre – send us a message if you need directions.

MID-WEEK BIBLE READING GROUPS
During the week, we hold bible reading groups in the homes of some of our church members. These groups are small and informal, with no assumed knowledge or beliefs – everyone is welcome. They are the perfect place to find out more about what the bible says and what it means for our lives.
We currently have three groups: one meeting in Crossmolina on Tuesday nights looking at the basics of the Christian Faith (“Christianity Explored”), and the other two meeting in Ballina on Tuesday mornings and Wednesday nights to study Romans.
If you find the idea of coming to a group like this daunting, we’d love to arrange one-to-one time of bible reading and discussion over a cuppa – so please do get in touch.

We also offer a short interactive course called “Hope Explored”, which is perfect for those who have questions about the Christian message:
- What is the bible about?
- Who is Jesus?
- What does it all mean for me?
Please let us know if you are interested in this, or have any other questions. Contact us to find out more.
CHILDREN’S PROGRAMME
Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.” Jesus didn’t treat children as an inconvenience or afterthought, and neither should the church. We believe teaching the bible to children in an age-appropriate format – filled with stories, games, illustrations and craft.
Our Children’s programme has serveral elements:
MONDAY CLUB (Crossmolina) – Held weekly on Mondays from 3:15-4:10pm in Crossmolina Town Hall, Friday Club has a focus on sharing the good news of Jesus with all of Crossmolina.
FRIDAY CLUB (Ballina) – Held weekly on Fridays from 3:45-5:00pm in the Ballina Family Resource Centre, Friday Club has a focus on sharing the good news of Jesus with all of Ballina.
Our Garda-vetted volunteers provide food, games, songs, craft and lots of fun, and these groups are especially welcoming of visitors. Because numbers are limited (to ensure adequate space and supervision for it to be a safe place), please register your children before attending by contacting Jo on 089 601 6529 or email calvarychurchballina@gmail.com
Our Sunday Church Service welcomes children (even the noisy ones!). The whole church family begins our Sunday gathering together by singing a few songs, before children head out for Sunday Club:
SUNDAY CLUB – Along with creche, Sunday Club aims to welcome children to Church on Sundays, and help them grow in their knowledge of the bible and apply it to their lives as their faith shapes their choices, attitudes and actions in life. We believe the gospel is the best foundation to build their lives on.
