Bible Teaching

We are a community finding hope in Jesus, which means we gather together regularly and encourage each other by learning from God’s word – the bible. Bible teaching is in various formats, suitable for all ages and backgrounds:

SUNDAY BIBLE TALKS: “The Kings who met THE King”

This short series looks at one royal family – Herod’s – and it’s encounters with the King of Kings. It will challenge us to consider the questions “who are my hopes resting on?” and “how am I responding to the true king?”. What a great way to prepare for Christmas – focusing on the Kingly claims of the baby born in a stable.

Join us at Ballina Family Resource Centre on Sundays at 11am – send us a message if you need directions.

During the week, we hold bible reading groups in the homes of some of our church members. These groups are small and informal, with no assumed knowledge or beliefs – everyone is welcome. They are the perfect place to find out more about what the bible says and what it means for our lives. We are currently  have two groups: one looking at the Old Testament book of Ruth, and the other looking at Systematic Theology (what the whole bible says about particular topics).

If you find the idea of coming to a group like this daunting, we’d love to arrange one-to-one study of the bible over a cuppa – so please do get in touch.

Latte and a Bible

We also offer a short interactive course called “Hope Explored”, which is perfect for those who have questions about the Christian message:

  • What is the bible about?
  • Who is Jesus?
  • What does it all mean for me?

Please let us know if you are interested in this, or have any other questions. Contact us to find out more.

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.” Jesus didn’t treat children as an inconvenience or afterthought, and neither should the church. We believe teaching the bible to children in an age-appropriate format – filled with stories, games, illustrations and craft.

Our Children’s programme has three elements:

  • FRIDAY CLUB – Held weekly on Fridays from 3:45-5:30pm in the Ballina Family Resource Centre, Friday Club has a focus on sharing the good news of Jesus with all of Ballina. Our Garda-vetted volunteers provide food, games, songs, craft and lots of fun, and this group is especially welcoming of visitors. Because numbers are limited (to ensure adequate space and supervision for it to be a safe place), please register your children before attending by contacting Brooke on 086 199 8304 or email

Our Sunday Church Service welcomes children (even the noisy ones!). The whole church family begins our Sunday gathering together by singing a few songs, before children head out for JAM and Sunday Club:

  • JAM (Jesus And Me) – Our crèche for children up to Senior Infants (0-6 years old). JAM isn’t just babysitting… it’s stories, songs and craft for the little ones to learn foundational truths about the Lord.
  • SUNDAY CLUB – our older group goes up to 6th class, and aims to help the children grow in their knowledge of the bible and apply it to their lives as their faith shapes their choices, attitudes and actions in life.
